Gutters can really add beauty to a home.  Gutters come in all sorts of shapes, styles, and colors.  In addition to adding to the aesthetics they can bring, they also serve a very important purpose.

Gutters push water away from the foundation.  Too much water around a foundation can cause issues.  There are places, like Celina, where it gets really hot and the soil/clay we can shrink.  It is sometimes advised to do a controlled water around the foundation, in the heat of summer, to keep this soil/clay moist, but too much water can cause issues.  This is what the guttering system is for on a home, to keep all of that heavy storm water from running straight to the foundation. 

There are several different types and colors of gutter systems used.  Before choosing a gutter system and color for your home, it is important to check with your HOA if you have one.

Types of Gutters

• K-Style Gutters:
• One of the most popular and common style gutters in the country.  They come in a variety of different colors to chose from.

• Half-Round Gutters:
• These provide a classic and elegant appearance.  They also come in a variety of different colors.  They are typically made from aluminium which makes them lightweight.

• Box Gutters:
• There are more common on commercial buildings but can also be found in more modern style homes.

• Fascia Gutters:
• There gutters are attached directly to the fascia board of your home.  They are easy to maintain and have a minimalist look about them.
